Belgrade Design District in Čumićevo Sokače
Čumićevo Sokače is a pedestrian alley in Belgrade’s historic center where, back in 1991, the city’s first modern shopping mall was built. At the time it was an elite address: international fashion stores, cafés, prestige. But in the early 21st century the complex declined and emptied out.

Its second life began in 2010, when young designers, artists, and creative entrepreneurs moved into the vacant shops. The former mall became the Belgrade Design District — a street-gallery where local brand windows stand next to jewelry workshops, fashion showrooms, and small cafés with the smell of freshly brewed coffee drifting out.
Here you can find jewelry, clothing, art objects, and interior pieces you won’t see anywhere else. It’s also simply a good place for a walk: the architecture, graffiti, shop windows, the smell of coffee.
We’ve chosen three local jewelry brands as a starting point.
KETZ – a workshop of handmade pieces in leather, fabric, rubber, and other unconventional materials. Bright colors, bold shapes, accessible prices — you’ll likely spot something unusual for yourself or as a gift.
Vodopija – charming ceramic jewelry filled with humor and playfulness. Fancy a pendant shaped like a doughnut, croissant, or fried egg? Look for it in the Klasa Klasa designer shop.
Svetlana Vukov – large statement jewelry in leather and brass. Rough minimalism mixed with industrial motifs and a hint of humor: impossible to overlook.
And that’s only part of it. In Čumićevo Sokače you’ll also find ceramic studios, fashion boutiques, and small galleries with graphics and photography. Together they form the Belgrade Design District — a place where a whole city of ideas hides behind one single archway.
