Sophie and Lucie

Sophie and Lucie is a Madrid fashion brand founded in 2016 by sisters Sofía and Lucía Fernández Roca. Their mother ran the family clothing retail business for 25 years, and the girls basically grew up surrounded by patterns and fabrics. When it was time to take over, they decided to do something different. By then they were both mothers of three, and they had long been looking for the same thing: a single shop where you could find a dress for a friend's wedding and something equally elegant for the day after. That's how Sophie and Lucie was born.

The brand has two clear lines: casual and events. The casual range covers blouses and printed tops, straight relaxed-fit jeans, skirts, trousers, shorts, linen and cotton two-piece sets (skirt and top), blazers, puff-sleeve jackets, knitwear, jumpsuits, swimwear, sandals, shawls and sunglasses. The events line covers dresses, jackets, skirts and total looks for weddings, christenings and parties, plus shoes and leather baguette bags.

Sophie and Lucie works exclusively with natural fabrics: cotton, linen, semi-sheer voiles and cupro, a cellulose-based material that feels close to silk but is much easier to care for. Almost everything is made in Spain. The flagship store is in the Salamanca neighbourhood, Madrid's most fashion-forward district, packed with both Spanish and international boutiques. Beyond Madrid, the brand also has stores in Barcelona, Valencia and Zaragoza.
