Bordallo Pinheiro

The brand Bordallo Pinheiro was founded in 1884 in Caldas da Rainha by the artist and ceramist Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro and has remained ever since one of the most original names in Portuguese ceramics. Pinheiro created elegant and whimsical forms — plates shaped like cabbage leaves, fruit vases, fish-shaped dishes, and other pieces that filled Portuguese homes with humor and style. Today, it is difficult to find a house in Portugal without some Bordallo Pinheiro piece.

The brand’s recognizable creations are sold in many stores, both in Portugal and around the world. But if you want to see the most complete collection, look for them in Vista Alegre stores or in the Bordallo Pinheiro boutiques — one located in Lisbon on Av. Guerra Junqueiro and another in the brand’s hometown, inside the Bordallo Pinheiro factory building in Caldas da Rainha.
