Xinú

Xinú means “nose” in the Otomi language, spoken by one of Mexico’s Indigenous peoples. A simple and precise name for a brand focused on creating original fragrances based on local ingredients.

The founders, Verónica Peña and Ignacio Cadena, explore plants, resins and flowers of the American continent, testing how they translate into scent and how they behave in perfumery.

The Xinú boutique is organised almost like a museum. Each fragrance has its own display, where the ingredients are laid out in detail, and the staff feel more like guides, sharing stories rather than sales pitches.

The brand’s range includes unisex perfumes, candles, home fragrances and body care products. From here, you take away not an object, but a scent — one that later brings Mexico back to you through memory alone.
