Carla Fernández

Carla Fernández is a fashion brand from Mexico City, founded by designer Carla Fernández in 2009. The collections include dresses, capes, outerwear, trousers and textile accessories made from natural fabrics: dense cotton, wool, coarse textured cloth, with hand embroidery and natural leather appliqué. Carla Fernández stands for slow fashion — small batches, manual work, and garments designed to last.

Carla Fernández has a professional background in art history and crafts, with long-term research into traditional clothing. In her design practice, she often uses geometric construction: garments are assembled from square and rectangular fabric panels with a minimal number of seams, while shape emerges through carefully planned folds and gathers. The fabric moves freely when walking, and the fit adjusts through wrap construction, belts or the structure itself. This approach gives the clothing flexibility and adaptability to different body types, allowing the brand to work without a rigid sizing system. Above all, these are highly tactile pieces — clothes you want to touch first, and then try on.

In Mexico City, Carla Fernández has two locations.
One is in Colonia Juárez, surrounded by art galleries, independent shops and small cafés, close to Paseo de la Reforma.
The other is in Colonia Roma, a neighbourhood known for its bookshops, restaurants and design spaces.

On the Yucatán Peninsula, in the city of Mérida, you can find the Carla Fernández boutique at Casa T’HŌ Concept House, located on the main avenue, next to historic mansions and museums.
