Stephanie Borg

Stephanie Borg is a Maltese artist and designer known for her work with patterns and architectural details from her home island. Her collections feature drawings of Maltese doors, wrought-iron balconies, patterned tiles and luzzu fishing boats with painted eyes — elements that define the local landscape. She applies these motifs to ceramics, textiles and home décor.

Stephanie worked as a graphic designer for over 25 years in Malta, the Bahamas, the US, Italy and Oman. Her years in Oman shaped her love for ornament and decorative graphics, where she created her first series of art prints and greeting cards based on her own illustrations.

After returning to Malta in 2008, she began documenting traditional tile and pattern designs. This led to the Tile Pop Collection and Tile Collage Collection, where classic Maltese motifs are reinterpreted for modern interiors.

Today, the Stephanie Borg brand offers more than 400 items — posters, mugs, notebooks, greeting cards, kitchen textiles and scented candles. Everything is produced in small batches and decorated with her original prints inspired by Maltese craft traditions.

Her studio and boutique are located in Rabat, near the old town. Visitors can see her artworks, choose gifts or home pieces, and meet the artist who helped bring Malta’s traditional patterns back into everyday life.
