Terra Recognita

Saulius Vaitiekūnas is one of Lithuania’s most renowned artists, whose works can be seen at the gallery Terra Recognita. This contemporary art gallery opened in 2009 on Stiklių Street, right in Vilnius Old Town, just a short walk from the Town Hall Square and the Cathedral.

 At Terra Recognita you’ll find the full range of Vaitiekūnas’s creativity: jewelry and “ritual accessories” made of sea stones, flint and silver, small-scale plastic works, large sculptures and conceptual projects. The space itself functions as a living installation, constantly changing and offering visitors a fresh experience each time.

 In 2015, Culture Trip London listed Terra Recognita among the ten most visited galleries in Vilnius. But what makes it especially interesting is that you can not only see Vaitiekūnas’s works here, but also purchase them. Jewelry and objects are available at quite accessible prices, making this gallery a rare place where art is not only for contemplation but also for personal discovery.
