Artigianato d'Arte di Vianello Mauro
✩✩✩-✩✩✩✩
It would be a shame to miss this magical place in Venice, where glass and fire give life to astonishing sea creatures. Delicate, almost alive, as if caught mid-motion. This is the workshop Artigianato d'Arte di Vianello Mauro.
Vianello Mauro is a native Venetian and a master glass artist. He’s been in love with the sea since childhood, and the sea loves him back — inspiring miniature fish, octopuses, jellyfish, and corals.
His workshop, not far from San Marco, isn’t a store or a museum — it’s a working studio, usually visited by appointment. Mauro offers workshops ranging from one-hour demos to full-day sessions at the torch. He’s a warm and welcoming person, and he’ll gladly show and explain everything: how glass breathes, why an anemone curves that way, and what makes a form feel alive. You can simply watch him work, or try it yourself under his expert guidance. And in the end, take home a finished piece — something from the shelf or a custom creation made before your eyes.
Mauro speaks English and Italian. Book your visit for an unforgettable experience — and a truly one-of-a-kind souvenir.
