Mydriaz
✩✩✩✩✩
Under the arches of the Viaduc des Arts, once a railway viaduct and now a park and design hub, you’ll find the Mydriaz studio. Founded in 2011 by designer Jennifer Midoz and her colleague Mallo du Boitier, it has since produced lighting, decorative furniture and sculptural installations in brass, glass and ceramics. Every stage — from the first sketch to the installation — takes place right here in the workshop under the arches of the Viaduc des Arts.
At the heart of all Mydriaz creations is light. Metal is used for its reflections and shadows, while glass and ceramics bring movement and subtle colour accents. The team draws inspiration from nature, cinema and painting, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The result is objects that stand at the intersection of art and functionality: furniture and lighting that become sculptural highlights in any space.
Mydriaz works can be found in renowned boutiques, hotels and private collections, but to experience the process and atmosphere of the workshop, you need to come here, to the Viaduc des Arts. If you are curious to see how original lighting takes shape, and want to discover one of the most unusual studios in Paris, Mydriaz is a place not to miss.
