La Lueur de l’Aube
✩✩✩-✩✩✩✩
In the 6th arrondissement of Paris, just a short walk from Boulevard Raspail and the Luxembourg Gardens, you’ll find the jewellery boutique La Lueur de l’Aube. Here, Japanese designer Makiko Akiyama creates her pieces — rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.
The brand La Lueur de l’Aube — “The Glow of Dawn” — was founded in 2008, and Makiko opened her first boutique in 2016. Her collections are inspired by nature, with recurring motifs of birds, feathers and stars. Even their names speak for themselves — Ballade des oiseaux (Ballad of Birds), Plume (Feather), Étoile (Star).
Makiko graduated from Musashino University of Art in Japan, then spent two years in Tokyo as a production manager for jewellery brands. In 2003 she moved to Paris, continued her jewellery studies, and within a few years took part in prestigious exhibitions such as The Box and First Class at the Tuileries.
Today, La Lueur de l’Aube is a boutique where visitors come for unique handmade jewellery, combining modern techniques with meticulous attention to detail. If you are looking for jewellery in Paris that will remind you of your walks through the city, this address on Rue du Cherche-Midi is worth adding to your itinerary.
