Belgrade Design Hub: the key spot for independent Serbian design
The conceptual design boutique Belgrade Design Hub sits in the city center at Gračanicka 9, just a short walk from the pedestrian street Knez Mihailova. From the start, it was imagined not simply as a retail space with different fashion pieces, but as a community of designers who share a similar spirit and aesthetic. You feel it right away: pieces by different authors come together naturally, forming a complete look curated by a team of like-minded creators and friends.
How Belgrade Design Hub appeared
The Hub grew out of personal projects of its founders. Designers Budislava Keković and Jasmina Vujović had run their own small boutiques in the Design District in central Belgrade for many years. In 2019, they decided to create a shared space: instead of several separate stores, one place where a customer can dress head to toe in pieces by leading Serbian designers of clothing, footwear, hats, accessories and jewelry.
A turning point was the covid epidemic. When the pandemic began, customer flow in small boutiques dropped noticeably, and maintaining several separate locations became difficult. At that moment, Budislava and Jasmina chose to join forces and open Belgrade Design Hub — a place where several designers work side by side, share space and expenses, yet remain independent authors with their own styles.
Designers and brands
Ana Ljubinković — one of the most renowned Serbian designers, known for vivid graphics and color.
ABO — playful women’s footwear made by hand.
Jelena Rodić — leather and fur bags and accessories.
Studio Manufaktura — sculptural jewelry made of metal, brass, steel, copper and porcelain.
NF Hats — elegant hats inspired by the style of early cinema.
What makes this place special
Beyond its shared aesthetic, Belgrade Design Hub stands on the friendship between the designers represented here. This is not a store opened for turnover, but a place where authors value being close, exchanging ideas, debating fashion and looking for new solutions together.
There are ten designers now, each with their own character, lines and materials. Many of them have participated in Belgrade Fashion Week more than once and have been in the industry for years. Yet when their pieces are displayed together, they form a surprisingly coherent picture. This is probably why it’s so easy to shop here — to get a styling suggestion, pick a matching accessory, hat, bag or piece of jewelry.
For travelers, Belgrade Design Hub is a convenient spot to see what Serbian designers are working on today and to bring back distinctive, author-made items from Belgrade. For locals, it is a steady place to follow new collections from their favorite brands.
